Meet the Maker

Joe Buttry pursued a career in theatrical production that took him across the US and ultimately to Las Vegas, NV.

Over the last two decades, Joe has served as a Technical Director for Opera Iowa, Des Moines Metro Opera, and Nebraska Theater Caravan. He has built scenery for the Aspen Theater in the Park and Super Summer Theater at the Spring Mountain Ranch State Park.

More recently, Joe served as Head Carpenter at the Mandalay Bay Events Center. He and his wife founded The Moxie Companies, which offers a collection of creative production solutions. Joe still takes on the occasional production project, but is more likely to be found in his woodworking shop or traveling in a self-converted Sprinter van with his wife and dog.

The Two Roads Mission
Two Roads Woodworking creates pieces designed to change the way you view wood. Whether it is a piece of scenery that turns a stage into a dream world or a trinket box that highlights a hand-selected grain structure formed over decades of growth, our passion lies in taking simple, humble lumber and making it noteworthy.
